About Us

Leslie Spira Lopez

In 2009, Leslie Spira Lopez founded The NoMad Alliance, a not-for-profit organization committed to building an ever better, sustainable community and growing local businesses.

Leslie lives and works in NoMad. She is a New York City based real estate executive, and the President and CEO of Kew Management Corp., a real estate management firm, owning and managing over one quarter million square feet in New York City and the Greater NY Metropolitan Area. Kew Management, a third-generation family business founded in 1953, holds a portfolio of trophy commercial office buildings concentrated in NoMad, as well as properties outside of the city in Northern New Jersey and Suffolk County NY. Lopez was promoted to President and CEO of Kew in 2001 and had been a President of the New York Division of its predecessor company since 1995.

In 2008 Leslie spearheaded the effort to rebrand the neighborhood now known as NoMad, a Manhattan neighborhood located north of  Madison Square Park that has expanded to include adjacent blocks and become one of the most desirable and coveted neighborhoods in NYC to Live, Work, Play & Learn.

Leslie has spent a lifetime committed to the betterment of NoMad, including Madison Square Park. As a child, she enjoyed the park with her father and worked summers for the park during her high school years. Since then, she has served as Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Madison Square Park Conservancy for four years where she has been on the Board since 2002.

Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Flatiron NoMad Partnership (formerly known as the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership), a Business Improvement District (BID) focused on the neighborhood. She also served on the steering committee to expand the BID to its current boundaries which now include NoMad.

Leslie resides in NoMad with her husband of 27 years. She has a son attending college at St. John’s University. As a longtime NoMad resident and business owner, she is continually and tirelessly advocating for the neighborhood she loves – its residents, business owners, and visitors.

NOMAD Magazine celebrates that there’s no place like NoMad. This interactive digital publication delves into NoMad personalities, businesses, and destinations under the categories of Live, Work, and Play.
